London

First destination:

London – 29.10.2018

The first step of the trip was done. We made to Findel, Luxembourg Airport, with our heavy backpack and hand luggage. 🙂

Some friends came to say goodbye. So the flight was planned for 15h10 and we took off without any delay to London City.

After arriving at London City Airport we waited for our luggage, while that we looked for an underground plan to figure out how to get to Heathrow Airport in the cheapest way. Taxi was like 50£, so no option.

We had to take the Dockland Light Railway (DLR) from London City to Canning Station. We changed there to the Jubilee line until Green Park Station where we took the Piccadilly line to Heathrow Terminal 1, 2 & 3.

In Heathrow, I repacked my backpack because it was too heavy, so I jammed a few things in my hand luggage. Later on, we checked in our backpacks and we had like 2 more hours left to catch our plane to Colombo (Sri Lanka) at 23h10. So we went for a good beer and a burger at The Curator in Terminal 3.

Before boarding our plane at 22h50 the very kind woman behind the SriLankan Airlines Counter had the brilliant idea to upgrade our seats because we are so tall. That’s why we got each a row of 2 seats.

I can just recommend flying with SriLankan Airlines, the service was really attentive and courteous. The food was okay but better than most economy plane food that I’ve got until now. In addition to all this, the media system touchscreen was actually good responsive and with up to date film and series.

We took off at 23h10 (29.11.) as planned in direction Colombo, Sri Lanka.
