Our Flight from Sri Lanka landed as planned in Kuala Lumpur for our short stopover. We hoped that our luggage will be transmitted in the other plane to Singapore.
After a good Asian-American breakfast, we boarded our plane to Singapore at 08h15. Not even one hours later we landed at Changi Airport.
Alone the landing and the first halls in this Airport are really impressive. It’s not for nothing that Changi Airport has won the award for the best Airport in the World the last few years.
The immigration was quick and easy. Good news, our bags arrived. Before leaving the landing area my backpack and my hand luggage were checked. They taught I had a big knife in hidden in my clothes and after checking my hand luggage with all my electronic stuff I had to register my drone in Singapore.
We took the metro to the city centre. Line 3 to City Hall. And then we tried to find our Hostel called Golden Hostel, but as it exposes there was nothing golden about it. They had the wrong address on booking.com, so we had to ask a few taxi drivers to find. Finally arrived it was the badest welcome in a reception ever and the rooms were the same.
So we booked us another Hotel nearby which was a way more expensive than the hostel but we were tired and just wanted to leave our stuff to go see the city for a few hours.
We took the bus to the main shopping street in Singapore called Orchard road. Further on we got to the stunning Marina Bay. There you can observe the whole city skyline, the Helix Bridge, a part of the Formula 1 Circuit, the famous Fullerton Hotel, the Merlion Statue and the extraordinary Marina Bay Hotel.
We didn’t stick too long in the Marina Bay Hotel because we wanted to come the day after. So we went to Raffle Place near the Fullerton Hotel. Going up to the rooftop we were in the middle of a wedding so we left again and went to the waterboathouse rooftop bar near the popular jubilee bridge for some expensive but good cocktails.
After this, we got back to the Hotel to go for a swim in the amazing roof pool before going to bed.
